this is my first baitcasting reel and i need to know how to oil it. i can't figure out where to put the oil, nor can i figure out how to take the side plate off. i have already removed the handle and access screws, but it still won't come off. help please.

The end plate should simply slide off with very little force, find out if you have removed all the screws here, and then once you do get it apart apply oil to the brass gears and also a little to the bearings, then put it back together again, if you aren't confident take it to a local tackle store and I'm sure they will clean it for you, they may even show you personally how its done, instead of me trying to describe it through text.

Now for oil, if your on a budget simple WD-40 works very well, but if not and you want a quality oil then the 100% synthetic quantum hot sauce is your best option, it lasts a long time as you only need to use a small amount, also ardent reel oil is good too.

I am just looking into baitcasting reels and this will be my first one can you give me one under $60. Tell me about them too just everything i will need to know about them.

I would go to a place like a Bass Pro Shop or Cabela's if available in your area. My wife and I purchased baitcasting reels last year. We did what was said, but still ended up making birds nests with the line. I would consult an expert - good luck!

I am highly new to using a baitcasting reel. I have a Quantum Burst 6.3.1 gear ratio reel. And a quantum medium-heavy rod. What line should i use for less birdsnests? Mono or braided what gets tangles less? What helps in less line lossed dude to the teeth in the Northern pike?

I like Braided line and i use the highest recommended for your rod. I use 15 pound test on my Abu Garcia baitcaster.
